RESEARCH AND RESULTS

Mr. Tsirigotis was born in Zakynthos. He entered the Medical School of the University of Athens, having passed successfully the entry exam in 1978, where he studied until 1984. Then he completed his military service in the Air Force for 2 years. Mr. Tsirigotis practiced general surgery at the University Hospital of Patra’s during 1986-1987.

In 1986, he joined the Royal Free Hospital in London where he began his doctoral thesis «asymptomatic bacteriuria as an independent prognostic survival factor in patients with primary biliary cirrhosis" which he completed in 1990. From 1989 to 1992, he specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in various hospitals in London and became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Britain after sitting successfully the relevant exam in 1992.

Until 1997, he worked in Units for Assisted Reproduction in London, particularly, at the London Gynaecology & Fertility Centre together with Professor Ian Craft specializing in Reproductive Medicine that he completed in 1995. From 1995 to 1997, he was deputy director of the London unit in charge of the whole program of assisted reproduction. At this time, the London Gynaecology & Fertility Centre headed by him and Professor Ian Craft, was the focus of many clinical and laboratory publications (> 30 refereed publications) and developments in the difficult problems of female and especially male infertility by establishing ICSI (ICSI ) and the percutaneous aspiration of sperm from the epididymis and testicle (PESA / TESA).

Since 1998, Mr. Tsirigotis is the Clinical Director of Akeso, Gynecology and Reproductive medicine center, specifically focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of infertility problems, as well as the underlying gynecological and male pathology.
