Hysteroscopy before IVF
Standard practice or after relevant ultrasound findings?
At a recent conference in Heraklion, Crete, organized by the MSRM, it became clear that it is more effective to do in vitro fertilization, with higher success rates when hysteroscopic control is performed in all patients treated with IVF / ICSI. It is not only because the underlying faults are corrected in uterine cavities and can be seen on ultrasound, but also because the process itself may increase the receptivity of the uterus due to the small "injury" that may result in the endometrium.
Also, avoid the need for repetition of IVF and related costs incurred by the couples when the failure was due to pathological causes not visible in the ultrasound hysterosalpingography.
