ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE & IVF

The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in assisted reproduction opens new pathways for optimizing the outcomes of in vitro fertilization (IVF), increasing the chances of a successful pregnancy from the first embryo transfer. The Institute of Life – IASO leads the way in Greece by integrating the most advanced AI systems: ERICA, CHLOE OQ and SiD.

ERICA (“Embryo Ranking Intelligent Classification Algorithm”) is a system that analyzes the implantation potential of each embryo based on more than 20 parameters, many of which are not visible to the human eye. It categorizes embryos with up to 92.5% accuracy, ensuring the selection of the most suitable embryo for transfer. This analysis allows embryologists to choose the embryo with the highest chance of success, making it easier for both the physician and the couple to make the decision.

CHLOE OQ is specifically designed for assessing egg quality. Using micro-cameras and Time-Lapse technology, it provides precise and personalized data on the quality of eggs intended for cryopreservation. The analysis from CHLOE OQ evaluates the likelihood of successful development and birth, helping reproductive specialists and women make the right fertility decisions. It is the only AI system in Europe offering such detailed and personalized assessments for creating viable embryos. It is also a crucial tool for women with recurrent implantation failures or miscarriages, as it provides information on the quality of eggs before fertilization.

SiD, another pioneering AI tool, focuses on selecting the ideal sperm for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). It tracks and evaluates each sperm individually in real-time using imaging algorithms. With the ability to assess morphology, speed, and other motility characteristics, SiD maximizes the chances of successful fertilization and blastocyst development, providing embryologists with another powerful tool.

These AI systems have positioned the Institute of Life – IASO at the forefront of assisted reproduction, enabling the most precise and personalized approach to fertility treatment. With the invaluable contribution of artificial intelligence, the chances of a successful pregnancy are significantly increased, offering couples trying to conceive new, scientifically backed hope.
